Mustang Story:  The car is a 1966 Mustang GT coupe, Sauterne gold, originally owned and purchased by Richard and Anne Vanderhoff from Bill Pierre Ford Seattle Washington, May 1966.
Richard and Anne were members and officers for the Southgate Mustang Club, Seattle Washington for several years as they participated in autocross and rally events from Bellingham WA to Stockton, CA. Their two children, Brian and Linda, just hung on seat belted in the back of the colt while mom burned rubber through the late 60’s and early 70’s. The colt was a show and go car then. Today, it’s more show and less driving after completing the frame off restoration in 2012. Back then the car was highly modified; tons of chrome, roll bar, Shelby stripes, hood scoop and lock pins. The C code engine got the full treatment; B&B, 30 overbore, heads, cam, intake Hooker headers and 750 dbl pump Holley carb. Behind that was the 3-speed manual and Detroit locker with the factory stereo-sonic 8-track sound system playing the greatest hits of the 60’s.
The colt was always garaged and never damaged. The car sat mostly idle through the 80’s and 90’s in its modified 60’s make up when it was decided to restore it all back. Richard and Anne after 38 years together departed for mustang heaven before the restoration could be completed. Today the car is shown with a complete photographic history of Richard and Anne’s 60’s era mustang club activity, the colt’s transformation, original dealer factory invoice and license plates. Stop by the car when you see it for a nostalgic trip back in time.was hooked as a child at 7 years old. I bought my first an Aqua metallic with black vinyl top, 68 after High School. This was followed by a white/blue 82 T-top, while I was in the Army. A red 94 V6 came next after I earned my B.S. degree. I currently have two Mustangs, #4 and #5, shown below. Mustangs get under your skin, deep into your soul, My wife even has become hooked on them..
